“The History & Future of Multibody Dynamics”
In the presentation, the decades of history of rigid and flexible multibody dynamics is introduced in both theory and commercial program development, respectively. As other Mechanical CAE, multibody dynamics has been researched and developed quite rapidly from the kinematic problems to rigid & flexible multibody dynamics with multi-physics phenomenon. The popular computational formulations and computer technics of multibody dynamics is explained clearly, and the role of MBD simulations in virtual development process in industry is shown with applications.
From early 2000, according to the rapid development of computer H/Ws and S/Ws MBD is also period of multi-discipline problems related to the motion including linear & nonlinear structure, control, HILS, fluid, optimization etc., and those implementations is briefly introduced in the presentation afterward. Finally, the future challenges of MBD which is facing for next decades are pointed out in terms of speaker, and the possible directions might be defined in the presentation.
